Meet Us

Lafayette is small connected community – its residents have historically been engaged in local issues. Young people’s ideas and capacities are particularly valued, along with individuals who are experts in their community. This community expertise, combined with the knowledge and resources in prevention science provided by the CTC process, enable the Lafayette CTC Community Board to identify solutions to issues facing Lafayette that are tailored to meet the unique needs of the community. Lafayette CTC is made up of various community members in Lafayette; these individuals hold a variety of lived experience, identities, expertise, and community roles, and collectively come together to work on issues in Lafayette.

Past Community Board Projects

  • Creation of Restorative Justice videos

  • Parent workshops and focus group to make sure mental health is not a stigma

  • Youth Spaces Pilot Program

  • Free COVID Clinics

  • Tobacco prevention work

  • Advocated for Lafayette to opt out of marijuana cafes and delivery

  • Advocated to raise purchase age of vapes to 21

Meet the Community Board

Lafayette CTC would not be successful without the help of the community. Community Board members include a diverse group of parents, youth, community organizations, school staff, and business owners. Members are people from Lafayette who know the neighborhood and who have a commitment to make things even better for our youth.
